Genesco purchases goods in three different ways. The three types are listed below along with the relevant sections of the routing guide.

  1. First Cost Goods – These are purchases sourced directly from the factory where Genesco is the importer of record. Genesco is responsible for all international transportation and import costs.

  2. Landed Goods (POE) – These are purchases of entire containers or less- than-container loads where the vendor is the importer of record. Once the goods have cleared Customs, Genesco will take delivery of the goods at the Port of Entry (POE). These shipments will bypass the vendor’s warehouse entirely (drop shipments).

  3. Domestic Goods – These are purchases of goods where Genesco will buy from the vendor’s (or vendor’s subcontractor) warehouse. These will either ship to our warehouse or drop ship directly to our stores.
